QUEEN CREEK is named after the
creek that comes down to it from the mountains surrounding the Town of Superior.
Before that, it bore the name of Rittenhouse, after a railroad stop in the area
where people would flag down the train to hitch a ride to Phoenix. Incorporated
on September 5, 1989, Queen Creek began to grow beyond a farming community.
Agriculture has always been the foundation of this area and continues to be,
however. Cotton, citrus, pecans, and other crops continue to thrive in the
productive soil at the base of the San Tan Mountains.
It’s easy to get to know your
neighbors here in Queen Creek, with yearly events and fun venues to get people
out and socializing. The Ostrich Festival is a big event every year for the
residents of Queen Creek and surrounding areas. Family sports are encouraged
and participated in at the Barney Family Sports Complex. Offering facilities
for soccer, basketball, volleyball, hockey, football and even dodge ball.
Take
in some theatre at the Queen Creek Performing Arts Center. Here you will find
community theatre, traveling Broadway shows, camps and other special events that
bring the finest talent to the stage. Another source of entertainment is Schnepf Farms. One of the first founding families of
Queen Creek was the Schnepf Family. To this day, Schnepf Farms is open to the
public for year-round events, seasonal produce and their Fresh from the Farm
Restaurant.
If your idea of living the good life includes
wide-open spaces, small town hospitality, and a quiet, rural community, Queen
Creek may be the town for you. Future growth is on the horizon for this area,
and land values will continue to rise. Keep in mind that in addition to large lots with a
multitude of multi-use trails throughout, many of the properties here have
horse privileges. Maybe you’re looking for
equestrian property, a home in a gated community at Johnson Ranch, or perhaps a
mini-farm within Circle G at Queen Creek. The choice is yours, and we can help
you obtain it.
