1. Keep the pests away?Summer brings a number of bugs due to sitting water and weeds. To prevent mosquitoes and other creepy-crawlies, set up effective drainage systems that will eliminate sitting water that has accumulated from rain and melted snow. This water can hinder grass from growing as well and lead to erosion. You will also want to go around the perimeter and pull weeds that have grown in.?
2. Inspect your roof? After a winter of snow, hail and rain, you want to make sure your roof hasn’t been damaged. You will want to do a thorough inspection, checking for missing shingles, gaps in tar, cracks and the like. Make all necessary repairs to prevent further damage.?
3. The grass isn’t always greener?Do a walk through your lawn and check for dead areas. It may be necessary to re-seed certain spots that should thrive with spring and summer rains.?
4. Fix windows?Check around all of your windows to find any holes in the glazing, which can lead to cool air leaking out and therefore
costing you more in electricity. ?
5. Bring on the summer projects?Spring and summer can be the time where BBQs, swimming parties and other outdoor activities take place. You may be ready to bring your outside area up to speed by preparing it for all of these outings. Perhaps it’s time to put in a pool, extend your patio or build a deck. ?
6. Spring cleaning?Take this time to freshen up your home by doing things such as clearing out unwanted items, organizing closets and the garage or brushing on a fresh coat of paint to rooms.?
7. Add some color to your outdoor areas
This can be a great time to plant some season-appropriate flowers and plants. Make sure they are suitable for your area to ensure success!
